Every Child Has a Calling
I have always believed that when you place the Word of God in the heart of a child, you are planting something that can grow for a lifetime. Children are precious gifts from God, and what we teach them in their earliest years can help shape the people they will become.
When I think about the next generation, I think about the little boys and girls who are just beginning to discover the world around them. I want them to know that God loves them, that their lives have meaning, and that He has placed something special inside each one of them. They need stories that will encourage their imagination, songs that will fill their hearts with joy, and the Word of God to help them understand the difference between right and wrong.
That is why these children's books and Bible stories mean so much to me. Through Baby Shirley and Friends, Hallie and Shirley, our illustrated Bible stories, children's songbooks, and nightly prayer books, I want to create a world where children can discover God's love in ways they can understand and remember. I want families to read together, sing together, pray together, and share those beautiful moments that become treasured memories.
Some of my fondest memories began when I was a little girl, learning about the Lord and discovering the gift of music. Those early lessons stayed with me throughout my life. Now, through these stories and songs, I want to pass along that same foundation of faith, kindness, courage, forgiveness, and love.
The Bible tells us in Proverbs 22:6, "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." I believe that with all my heart. We must give our children something greater than entertainment. We must give them wisdom they can carry, prayers they can remember, and the assurance that wherever life takes them, God will always be there.
My prayer is that these books will find their way into homes, churches, classrooms, and the hands of children around the world. Long after a story has been read or a song has been sung, I hope its message will remain in a child's heart.
The greatest legacy we can leave is not simply what we have accomplished in our own lifetime. It is what we have planted in the hearts of those who come after us.
The next generation is our future, and by God's grace, the legacy continues.
